Francis Macleod graduated from the University of Paisley with a BA in Media: Theory and Production in 2002. He has also attended art and design courses at Motherwell College, Ayr College and Strathclyde University’s Centre for Lifelong Learning, and has gained a wealth of practical experience in the act of creating and making.
For a decade Francis has been a carer for his wife and children. He now seeks to share his work more widely and to engage in new creative opportunities.
He has exhibited work in the Reflections student exhibition whist attending Ayr College in 2004, as well as exhibiting in the East Kilbride Art Society exhibitions in the years 2015 and 2016. He participated and exhibited as part of Pintar Rapido Glasgow 2018.
Francis is very proud to have delivered art lessons as part of previous employment in a social care role, as well as to pupils in primary education, producing stage backdrops for school shows and supporting secondary school teachers delivery of Art & Design as part of his community engagement.
Francis is a committee member and Vice President of the East Kilbride Art Club, a volunteer run community art club which meets weekly and provides work space, artist demonstrations and social opportunities to adult members. He is also a member of the Scottish Contemporary Art Network (SCAN) and the Scottish Artists Union.
